Please join a community of friends and neighbors for Back in the Race.

This is a project that celebrates that we can pick up and do it again do anything again - and remember that it all gets easier with friends and neighbors.

The entire world is now experiencing this simple truth; we've been filled with terror and we are filled with deep sorrow, but as we share our strengths we're also filled with faith. The world can be a place of bravery and honor. We'll just have to create it.

In the summer of 2001 a group of Decorah residents formed RidersÕ Trust, a non-profit organization to help raise money for people who have the courage to fight against the odds and get Back in the Race.

Back in the Race events are organized around the idea that helping people should be fun, and they are always a celebration of the people they seek to benefit.

Currently a new Back in the Race event is being planned for Saturday, September 7, to benefit Yori Oyloe.

In October of 2001, the group sponsored its first Back in the Race, a two-day event to benefit DecorahÕs Richard Deke Gosen, who was seriously injured in a bicycle accident. That event raised over $30,000.

A second, smaller Back in the Race event was held in January of this year and raised about $1,500 for Brian Fitzgerald of Lansing, Iowa.
